The one that makes me cross is Plusnet and all that 'good, honest broadband from Yorkshire' nonsense.

I can't believe they have based an entire brand around a lazy regional stereotype, I'd love to know who is responsible for such an atrocity.

I've had plenty of comments and observations from people because everyone thinks that they can do PR. Some people are negative, assuming that what we do is simply cover up bad stories or peddle tat. Others are really positive, although primarily in a patronising way assuming that PR is all parties and champagne. My view is that almost no-one outside of the industry understands it and as long as you, your clients and your media contacts are happy, then the rest doesn't really matter. You can't do PR without having a thick skin.

A really interesting read, with useful information. I really appreciate it when a personalised approach is made and am therefore likely to review or include information in a post if the product / service sits well with my family.

Thanks for linking to my survey. I agree with your points and, as I've said before, I think that part of the problem is that PRs confuse bloggers with journalists. They're not, the disciplines are very different. I've got some more research on how bloggers regard PRs, which I just need to find a couple of hours to write up - watch this space!

In the meantime, thanks for reading my piece.
